What skills and experience we're looking for
Do you want to create life-changing opportunities for young people? Can you have a positive impact on a child’s future? Then our position of Teacher of English is for you!
Oasis Academy Sholing is a school where staff, students and parents are proud to belong to the school community. All our staff have high expectations for our students to do well. We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Teacher of English to join Oasis Academy Sholing who shares our belief that the opportunities given in school transform and shape the lives of our young people. Success in English opens doors for young people, and you could be a part of truly transforming their lives and giving them the opportunities they need to thrive. Our department is a truly supportive and cohesive team which prioritises teacher development and managing workload. We have an extensive and successful mentoring and coaching programme, which ensures that everyone – from newer staff to the most experienced – receives regular feedback and support to ensure their teaching is always at its highest level. Multiple available avenues for bespoke CPD ensure that our department members can always pursue their ambitions, with NPQ opportunities and internal programmes to support those wanting to develop in curriculum, pastoral or leadership routes. Our fully resourced curriculum and focus on department co-planning ensure that our English teachers do not have to spend their time creating resources but can instead focus on adapting lessons for the learners in front of them to maximise their progress and impact.
The successful candidate will be able to teach KS3 and KS4 to a high level and ensure that students make progress in lessons. You will have strong subject knowledge and high expectations for students.
