Ranworth PCN has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced healthcare assistant to join our team at the Caradoc Surgery in Frinton on Sea, on a full-time basis for 37.5 hours per week. You will support the practice nursing team in the delivery of nursing services, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education. The main responsibilities will include: Undertake new patient health checks. Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, height, weight and BMI, recording findings accurately. Carry out annual HCA YOC PT 1 diabetic checks in line with guidance. Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly. Undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required. Carry out ECGs as requested. Provide support during minor operations as required. Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session. Maintain surgical equipment. 24 hour ECG monitoring Complete home visits as required for patients requiring any of the above. When trained - undertake venepuncture, administer flu, B12, pneumonia injections and shingles vaccinations and carry out ear irrigation under the supervision of the practice nurse. You will have the following skills and qualifications: Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent. Ideally a qualification in phlebotomy/venepuncture. Strong clinical skills. Experience of working with the general public within primary care or another healthcare setting. Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the post Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Consistently confidential manner, as well as a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues. Ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Strong organisational and time management skills.
