About the role
We have an opportunity for a Service Manager to join our Repairs Team covering the South West area. This role is permanent, full-time working 39 hours per week (Monday - Friday). This role covers Exeter, Plymouth and surrounding areas, and the successful candidate will be based in our Exeter office.

Reporting to the Repairs Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for:
1. Managing a team of operatives to deliver programmed works in our customers' homes.
2. Efficiently managing operative productivity and work quality, and monitoring progress by undertaking quality audits of work and materials (in progress and post).
3. Ensuring the necessary financial controls are exercised and that adequate resources are in place.
4. Managing approved subcontractors' performance and compliance with contractual agreements through regular assessment of quality and timescales.
5. Monitoring that operatives are maintaining appropriate levels of vehicle stock.
6. Managing and controlling materials in line with legislative standards and company guidelines.
7. Ensuring that the company's obligations relating to Health and Safety and other statutory regulations are adhered to through monitoring of safe working practices.
8. Ensuring timely investigation and response to complaints, and that workflow tasks are completed, and systems updated.
9. Supporting the protection and safety of our customers by ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed and safeguarding concerns are appropriately identified, monitored, and reported.
Essential Skills/Experience
1. Up to date knowledge of building maintenance, Decent Homes standards and safety legislation.
2. Experience of leading, managing, developing, and motivating operational teams.
3. Up to date knowledge of housing sector best practice and relevant legislation.
4. Experience of successfully delivering an excellent customer-focused repair service.
5. Experience of repairs management information systems.
6. Excellent oral and written communications.
7. A full UK clean driving licence is required for this role.
Essential Qualifications:
1. Relevant Technical qualification - trade NVQ level 3 or equivalent.

This position will require a basic DBS check which will be paid for by The Guinness Partnership.
