JOB DESCRIPTION LINCOLNSHIRE, IL JOB TITLE: PRO SHOP ATTENDANT DEPARTMENT: GOLF REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF GOLF ISSUE DATE: MARCH 1, 2024 Pay Range: $16.00 Part Time Benefits: Voluntary Benefits Plans Employee Discount Paid Time Off - Sick PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS Perform highest level of customer service to Crane’s Landing customers while they are checking in and paying for booked tee times. Assist in maintaining golf shop to showcase & selling golf merchandise. Treat guest & fellow associates with respect and friendliness at all times. Follow the directions of the Director of Golf during normal shifts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): Opening of operation: • Address and report any safety issues immediately. • Disarm alarm and sign into time clock. • Login to Point of Sales (POS) and deposit cash in register. • Check tee sheet and prepare to handle reservations. Customer Service: • Acknowledge and greet all members by name when possible. Provide exceptional guest service. • Unlock golf carts and prepare them for play. • Answer calls and use proper etiquette. Reservation & Tee Sheet Management: • Executing the correct technique in accepting reservations. • Collecting each customer's name, phone number, e-mail, credit card (optional depending on course policy), number of players in the group, their chosen time and the green fee price. Charge the appropriate rate for every transaction. • Maximizing Revenue Management/Utilization techniques such as opening on time, selling open tee times, credit card guarantees, call backs, single golfer reservations and tournament/league play. Managing Play • Check guests in for their booked tee times. • Assign group cart - No more than 2 carts in a foursome or threesome. No more than 1 cart in a twosome. • Notify Player’s Assistant and Management of anticipated pace of play issues or safety concerns. This includes any guests who may not be following rules or who may have had too much to drink. Golfers are not allowed to bring their own alcohol on the course. Merchandising: • Promote products to members and guests. • Keep displays organized and clean. • Coordinate special orders. • Report shortages to Golf Director POS System: • Understand and apply system capabilities. • Understand function of system keyboard, knowledge of all product categories, opening/closing procedures, and cash handling. Closing of Operation: • Count golf shop drawer to set bank amount and store in safe. • Drop additional cash/checks in bottom safe. • Straighten/stock merchandise and vacuum golf shop area. • Swipe out of time clock, secure alarm (if necessary) and lock all entry point doors. Other contributions to team as necessary. • Assist other staff members with their duties including cart operations, food and beverage, etc… • Check conditions of carts and lock for overnight SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise 3-4 employees at any given time. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Experience mixed with High School diploma or general education degree (GED) at minimum. LANGUAGE SKILLS May be required: to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS May be required: to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. REASONING ABILITY May be required: to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS • Valid Driver’s License • BASSET Certification PHYSICAL DEMANDS Frequently stands, walks, uses hands to finger, feel or handle, talks or hear. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. HOURS Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the Resort provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime.
