We're looking for a self-starter with strong line management skills to join the Levy/Finance team.
CITB operates a hybrid working policy including working from home, on average one or two days in the office per week, and additional travel to other CITB locations, as required.
About the role
We're looking for someone to lead and supervise the day-to-day delivery of an operations team, ensuring the processing is undertaken and completed by the team accurately, efficiently and effectively, whilst delivering a positive customer experience.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
2. Line management of operational delivery team
3. First point of escalation for customer queries or complaints
4. Monitoring operational performance against pre-agreed performance targets and managing any required performance improvements
5. Being the expert on operational delivery for the Levy Operations area and supporting Product Manager to instill a culture of continuous improvement within the team
6. To effectively implement any required changes to operational delivery, including new work activities and processes.
People/Team Leadership
7. Achieving Performance
Effectively manage the performance of individuals and the team to ensure there is a clear line of sight between individual goals and objectives and the overall objectives of the team and wider organisation. Enable performance engagement and recognition through regular performance feedback and coaching where required.
8. Developing Capability
Promote the importance of individual and team development and actively encourage the use of development tools, processes and conversations for personal and professional development. Take ownership of team succession and have development plans in place to mitigate areas of future risk.
9. Creating stability
Communicating and upholding key principals and standards to ensure the team functions effectively and performs at its best. Effectively utilising, where appropriate, CITB policies and processes relating to key topics such as performance, behaviours, attendance and disputes to achieve a fair and consistent approach.
10. Role Modelling
Lead by example and represent the CITB values and behaviours in your communications and interaction with others to promote a positive culture that is based on fairness, inclusion and respect. Actively seek feedback and use this to enhance your performance and develop your leadership style.
About You
To apply for this role, you must be able to demonstrate that you:
11. Have experience of managing operational delivery teams and/or customer service teams
12. Have good communication skills - both verbal and written
13. Have experience in effectively handling customer queries and complaints
14. Have experience in a role where a detailed understanding of operational delivery processes is required
Ideally, you can also demonstrate that you:
15. Have experience of working in a continuous improvement environment
16. Have a working knowledge of CITB Levy & Grant scheme(s) and/or systems
