HR Advisor Salary: Up to £34,000 Location: Erdington, Birmingham | Office Based | With occasional travel - Driver essential for this role Hours: 38 hours/week (Mon to Thurs 8:30 AM - 5PM, Fri 8:30 AM - 4PM) Our client is an expanding company headquartered in Birmingham, seeking a dedicated HR Advisor to join their dynamic HR team. Key Responsibilities: Employee Relations (ER) Lead and manage ER cases from start to finish, including disciplinary hearings, grievances, and flexible working applications. Confidently issue outcomes, including dismissals, and create invite and outcome letters. Chair meetings such as investigations, welfare reviews, and return-to-work discussions, while providing advice to managers. Support redundancy processes and policy updates, ensuring compliance with legislation. Take notes during meetings chaired by managers and provide guidance as needed. General HR Support Manage the probation process by liaising with managers, updating records, and issuing outcome letters. Maintain accurate HR systems and records while preparing reports and creating Excel spreadsheets. Assist in developing job descriptions, preparing job adverts, shortlisting candidates, and coordinating interviews. Liaise with recruitment agencies and hiring managers to fill vacancies. Organise onboarding, including inductions and ensuring new starter paperwork is complete and provided to Payroll. Oversee the HR inbox, respond to queries, and support payroll with necessary updates. Administer starter and leaver processes, handle reference requests, and archive personnel files. Coordinate agency staff requirements with warehouse management and agency partners. What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in an HR Advisor or similar HR generalist role. Strong understanding and hands-on experience managing ER cases from start to finish. Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR policies. Proficient in Excel, with the ability to use V-lookups, formulas, and create reports. Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
