Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated MISCO / Administrator at HMP Guys Marsh.
This is a part-time position, working on a 50% basis.
Day to day of the role
- Your role will be to develop and maintain an efficient and effective administrative function including to administer the processing and handling of student data in order to produce accurate and valid individualised learner record returns as well as providing some secretarial duties.
- Accurately input and analyse learner data on spreadsheets or databases including the setting up of simple spreadsheets or databases and the provision of accurate data reports.
- Check and ensure that all paperwork and learner records are accurate and audit compliant for processing.
- Typing memos, letters, reports and other communications including drafting replies to general enquiries and taking accurate minutes of meetings.
Required skills and qualifications
- Administration qualification or experience.
- Recent experiences demonstrating competence in IT usage particularly Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to respond to a range of queries professionally and to take appropriate messages.
About HMP Guys Marsh
HMP Guys Marsh is an adult male, Category C, prison. The education department offers a diverse range of courses, including bricklaying, cleaning/waste management, construction, IT, multi-skills and PSD. HMP Guys Marsh runs accredited programmes on thinking skills, drug rehabilitation and anger management. A variety of work is available to residents, including laundry, kitchen, gym and industrial cleaning. Some of this work can result in recognised external qualifications.
