To contribute to the Christian ministry and mission of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland through the delivery of the duties outlined.
To be an active member of the General Assembly’s staff team, contributing to the effective administration of its functions and assisting in the development of strategies and plans for the delivery of its agreed objectives in a manner in keeping with the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
Under the Leadership of the Secretaries of the Council for Mission in Ireland and the Council for Global Mission, to assist with the implementation of decisions of the General Assembly relevant to the Councils and to carry forward their delegated responsibilities.
Under the Leadership of the Council for Mission in Ireland and the Council for Global Mission, to forge and develop missional partnerships, to take responsibility for the grant making function of the two Councils and to contribute to the general support of the Councils as required.
Applicants must have:
1. A third level qualification
2. Must evidence personal Christian faith in practice and expression, normally demonstrated by active membership of a Christian congregation*.
3. A working knowledge of current thinking and practice in Christian mission in Ireland, North and South, and globally, including the work of denominations and para-church agencies which currently do or potentially may collaborate with the Presbyterian Church in Ireland
4. Leadership experience within the life of a Christian congregation or organisation
*The essential nature of this post requires that the successful candidate be a Christian as provided for under excepted occupations in the Fair Employment Treatment (NI).
Hours: 22.5 hours per week, normally worked over 3 days
