Fire Cadets is a nationally recognised long-term educational programme open to young people aged 13 to 17 years old. Fire Cadets units operate from local fire stations, where young people attend one evening per week for two hours.
You will play a key role in the Prevention Team in driving innovation across prevention, early intervention, and safeguarding activities, including improving working with our young people.
Key aspects of the role involve:
* Plan, co-ordinate and lead Fire Cadet Instructors on the delivery of Fire Cadet Sessions, across the curriculum, including simple firefighting drills and social action events.
* Co-ordinate and contribute to training activities to staff in support of the prevention training plan, in areas such as NFCC Fire Cadet Curriculum, youth engagement with a focus on reduction in arson and serious violence.
* Liaise with partners on the delivery of NFCC Fire Cadet outcomes for vulnerable young people.
* Co-ordinate and lead on activities to support young people who may have barriers to engagement.
The role is full-time, 37 hours per week. Our Fire Cadets programme runs on weekday evenings. The successful candidate must be willing to commit to regular weeknight evenings and occasional weekends during term time, and willing to travel throughout the Humberside Service area as needed.
