Postdoc in Structural Biology & Biochemistry
The Querques Lab is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher with a background in biochemistry and structural biology (cryo-EM). This position is funded through our ERC Starting Grant BROADCAST. If you are passionate about mobile DNA, structural biology, and genome engineering, we invite you to join our team!
Open since Feb 12, 2025
About the Querques Lab
Our lab focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms by which mobile genetic elements (MGEs) move between and within genomes. We aim to explore their biological impact on genome remodeling and leverage this knowledge to develop new tools for genome engineering.
Our research integrates structural biology with various biochemical, biophysical, and biotechnological approaches, including cell-based assays, protein design, and genome editing experiments.
Minimum Requirements
1. PhD in biochemistry, structural biology, or a related discipline
2. Experience in RNA biology, CRISPR-Cas genome editing, and analysis of proteomics, RNA/DNA sequencing datasets is highly desired
3. Proactive and eager to learn new methods and topics
4. Strong collaborative attitude in the lab
5. A CV with a detailed description of research experience and interests
6. Contact details for at least two references
Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis, and the position will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found. The position is available from autumn 2025 and will remain open until filled. It is initially funded for a period of three years.
