Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Children's Residential Support Worker to join Stoke on Trent City Council on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working various shift patterns.
The Role:
1. Provide day-to-day care and emotional support for young people, following individual care and therapeutic plans.
2. Develop meaningful relationships with children and create a safe, nurturing environment.
3. Promote education, social inclusion, and life skills to help young people achieve their full potential.
4. Encourage positive behaviour and support young people in managing challenges.
5. Assist with household duties, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and welcoming home environment.
6. Work collaboratively with families, social workers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
7. Support children to engage in the community, hobbies, and activities that promote their well-being.
8. Safeguard young people by following all relevant policies, reporting concerns, and managing risks.
9. Contribute to care planning, record-keeping, and attending meetings related to the young person's progress.
10. Promote independence skills to prepare young people for adulthood.
Requirements:
1. Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a residential, care, or support setting.
2. A caring, patient, and resilient nature, with the ability to manage challenging situations.
3. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
