Job Description
We're seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our Cheltenham office (hybrid) on a fixed-term contract direct with BW or temporary contract basis via an Umbrella Company. We may also consider candidates looking to work from our Bristol office; however, candidates should be prepared to work from other offices as necessary. This is an initial 6-month fixed-term contract; however, it is highly likely to be extended to 12+ months and could even become permanent.
The role of Senior Business Analyst is a specific, temporary role that requires a person with excellent knowledge and experience of supporting the development of software solutions for external use by clients and intermediaries through the web. The role will work as part of the SIPP360 Programme that has been set up to enable the transformation of Barnett Waddingham's SIPPstream software to support the growth, automation, and digitisation of our SIPP business, in particular the onboarding of institutional co-branded clients (Cobras). This role reports directly to the Relationships and Development Partner who is responsible for overseeing the SIPP Transformation.
A snapshot of your day:
* Elicit, define and manage high-level business requirements from stakeholders, Product Owners, and Subject Matter Experts, ensuring traceability.
* Communicate requirements to Scrum Team members through user stories, use cases, and clear acceptance criteria.
* Lead workshops, reviews, and evaluations of large and complex business systems, processes, and user needs.
* Collaborate to support the development, system testing, user acceptance testing, and implementation of solutions that effectively support the business and non-functional requirements.
* Participate in daily stand-ups and Sprint refinements, reviews, and retrospectives.
* Work with Product Owner to prioritize backlog and identify dependencies.
* Help to facilitate agreement, engagement, and quality of delivery with the Scrum Team.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
* Worked on several change programmes utilising Waterfall and Agile approaches.
* Solid experience defining business requirements and user stories in an unambiguous manner and a structured, analytical approach to work and problem-solving.
* Ability to map, create, and maintain process flows using recognised industry standards techniques like BPMN.
* Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to deliver quality solutions.
* An understanding of software testing and willingness to undertake testing tasks as required.
* In-depth knowledge and experience of PRINCE2 and Agile methodologies and be able to confidently operate at all levels of the business.
* Experience of working within a Financial Services environment is desirable.
