Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Duties may include:
* Work out what to do from technical drawings
* Cut and shape materials with hand and machine tools
* Understand designs for furniture on paper and on computer
* Estimate the quantity and type of materials needed to assemble items
* Add parts like brackets, hinges, handles and locks
* Apply finishes like polishes and varnishes
* Restore or repair damaged furniture
