Job Description
We are seeking a Senior CFD Engineer to join our team at the new Silverstone Facility. You will work within a multidisciplinary group responsible for developing tools, applications, and workflows that support our Aerodynamics department, forming a key part of the CFD pipeline for race car development. We encourage innovation and sharing ideas to foster a collaborative environment focused on success.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and improve CFD methodology and processes for accuracy and efficiency.
* Collaborate with aerodynamicists and CFD engineers to deliver effective CFD solutions tailored to development needs.
* Ensure processes are robust, observable, testable, and high-performing.
* Align CFD simulations and analyses with tool capabilities.
* Maintain and optimize existing and new toolkits.
* Contribute across various CFD disciplines, including process development, external/internal flows, thermal modeling, and pipeline creation.
* Work with software engineers to develop robust applications from engineering codes.
* Research and develop new technologies for CFD applications.
* Support daily activities within the CFD group and assist users.
* Mentor junior team members.
Requirements
* Degree in Aerospace, Motorsport Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience, preferably in motorsport.
* Strong knowledge of fluid physics, turbulence modeling, and numerical methods.
* Programming experience in C++, Python, Java, or VBA; familiarity with STAR-CCM+ and open-source CFD codes.
* Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
* Ability to perform duties accurately and efficiently.
* Experience in team management and effective communication with stakeholders.
* Clear verbal and written communication skills.
