The activities of RCFA Directorate includes accounting for all HMRC activity; governance, risk, assurance, control, and internal fraud; finance systems and accreditation, data, and processes for HMRC. The directorate is heavily involved in projects to transform our finance processes and systems and is responsible for the finance profession across HMRC.Job descriptionThis exciting and interesting role would suit anyone who has a strong background in finance, audit and project environment with a desire to develop their knowledge of HMRC tax systems and processes and working in strategic change in a large organisation.You will be responsible for leading a high performing team in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment, influencing and ensuring that our ground-breaking transformation programmes deliver solutions that meet HMRC standards in relation to design, accounting, data controls and payment standards. The role would require building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders from across HMRC thus providing you with the opportunity to develop your leadership, and negotiating skills while influencing the direction of change to the services that we provide to taxpayers across the country. You will join a welcoming and accomplished team of finance and assurance specialists in the Financial Accreditation based in RCFA\\\'s Finance Systems and Processes team providing clear direction to your team and programme areas, giving support, advice and guidance to ensure all changes impacting Finance Systems and Processes are effectively delivered.Note: This is not an accounts production or budget holder role it is a unique role that combines accounting knowledge with delivery of change.Important: The role requires some travel including overnight stays, sometimes at short notice.Person specificationSuccessful candidates will have a variety and breadth of responsibilities:Motivate, manage and coach your team to build capability, that will ensure efficient delivery of requirements that meet the future demands of HMRC.Lead a team of Accreditors with specialist knowledge of complex and high-risk project change initiatives and develop strong collaborative relationships which reach across HMRC.Working with programmes to represent RCFA at a senior level to influencing change ensuring delivery aims align to RCFA and HMRC Strategy.This role reports to the G6 Head of Financial Accreditation.Essential Criteria Qualified with CCAB, CIMA or equivalent, or working towards qualification ie part-qualified/AAT qualified. If part qualified, you must be actively studying towards completing your accountancy qualification within the next 18 months.Strong accounting knowledge and background.Strong communication, influencing, stakeholder and relationship building skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to a wide range of stakeholders.Ability to analyse and consider information, summarise and exercise good judgement to support decisions and advice given.Ability to organise and manage multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities from multiple sources (including wider organisational goals) in a high pressure environment.Experience of presenting to a diverse audience across grades, to communicate both technical and non-technical information, via multiple communication methods.Experience of managing a team and leading through change and uncertainty.Desirable Criteria Although the following is desirable there will be on the job learning and development, and therefore not essential.Audit skills/qualifications.Project Management skills /qualifications.Knowledge of HMRCs transformation agenda.Knowledge of ERP (Oracle or SAP) systems functionality.QualificationsYou must be qualified with CCAB, CIMA or equivalent, or working towards qualification ie part-qualified/AAT qualified.
