JT1 - Medical Equipment Technician
Location: Surrey
Salary: £27,000 (Rising after 12-month probation) + Bonus
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Medical Equipment Technician on behalf of one of our clients. The role will improve quality by ensuring that equipment is always available and fully functional, facilitate training to all levels of staff as required, implement quality improvements and continuously assure the highest standards are maintained in all aspects of services. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Commit to and take responsibility for learning and progression under the supervision of the Training Manager, Head of Managed Service Operations and senior colleagues.
2. Engage upon a development plan to further advance skills and experience. Enhance and further the role within the facility to grow the value of the partnership.
3. Use the company’s tools, systems and reports to establish, maintain and update accurate records of the information required to contribute to service and customer reports.
4. Face-to-face client support, including Operating Department, Sterile Processing Department, and associated clinical areas.
5. Daily maintenance and management of the client’s devices.
6. Preventative maintenance on devices; troubleshoot video and instrument issues throughout the assigned clinical areas.
7. Monitoring, reporting and facilitating repair/exchange transactions.
8. Facilitate the dispatch and delivery of equipment to and from the designated facility using available means.
9. Training and education of devices and/or services utilised within the designated facility.
10. Undertake such other duties assigned by the company which are reasonable in relation to the position.
11. Carry out any ad hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by your Manager or for Business needs.
12. This role will involve manual handling on a daily basis.
13. Ensure compliance to the company’s health and safety policies and procedures.
14. You have a duty of care for yourself and your colleagues under the company’s health and safety policy.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent through experience.
2. NVQ Level 2 / 3 in healthcare (desirable).
3. Relevant experience in a healthcare environment (desirable).
4. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to concentrate on tasks, think independently, use sound judgement, prioritise, make quick decisions and problem-solve.
5. Ability to communicate at all levels effectively and work independently on assignments.
6. Polite and courteous manner regardless of the situation.
7. Good English in verbal and written communication skills.
8. Ability to work calmly under pressure.
9. Willingness to go the extra mile at busy times.
10. Ability to work under own initiative.
11. IT skills including the ability to use Microsoft Excel, Outlook and reporting systems.
