My client is recruiting for a Service Engineer in the Water Sector
Field-based in the KT, SL, WD postcode areas
Permanent, Full-time, 37.5 hours

If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our leading, well respected water technologies company, where you will play a pivotal role in giving our clients the best in class quality service. You will provide on-site corrective/preventative maintenance and offer after-sales technical and commercial support. You will be expected to go on the 'On Call Rota' weekend/out of hours work once fully trained.
Some more brief responsibilities of a Service Engineer are:
To observe, abide by and enforce the Company's and client's Health & Safety policies.
To always present a professional image to customers whether by telephone, in writing or in person.
To develop and maintain good working relationships with customers ensuring you are always punctual, helpful and courteous.
Flexible approach to customer's needs and working hours.
Timely reporting to Service Manager on progress or delays.
Timely completion and submission of risk assessments, work reports, activity reports and all other documentation.
Timely completion of site tasks and activities as required.
Look for recommendations and opportunities to improve the client's system, (reliability or productivity) and where appropriate provide quotations to the client for parts, consumables, plant upgrades and refurbishment work
Liaise with the appropriate sales team on any potential leads.
Offer feedback on future product development, features and functions
Provide regular updates to your line manager on any issues that may result in financial, reputational or operational impact on the Company.
To carry out commissioning work on standard equipment.
General requirements for the role:
Ideal but not essential - NVQ or higher in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or similar or even working towards.
GCSE or equivalent - English and Maths.
A full UK driving licence is required.
Excellent time management skills.
Experience with the water industry would be an advantage but is not essential.
Knowledge of the Healthcare and Scientific market is desirable.
Experience of having worked as a Service Engineer or in a Technical Support role would be an advantage but not essential.
Passionate about providing a first-class service to our customers.
Able to handle challenging conversations with customers and find a resolution.
Strong communication skills both verbally and written, with the versatility to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrable experience of having built strong working relationships both internally and externally.
A professional approach to your work and communication with colleagues and customers.
A good level of IT competency.
Good organisational skills with an eye for detail.
Able to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks
