The Environmental Division in Stafford are looking for a new staff member for a Sample Receipt Officer role to join a well-established team. This role is primarily focused on incoming and outgoing goods to support the success and efficiency of our commercial laboratory.
This is a full-time, Mon-Fri working 8:30am-4:15pm
This is a fast-paced and varied role that will see you unpacking and sorting with accuracy.
The day to day
* Receive clients’ deliveries and confirm samples meet the testing requirements.
* Process incoming sample deliveries into the laboratory including the sorting and labelling of samples.
* Read and understand client Chain of Custody (CoC) documentation.
* Log samples in the LIMS system with accuracy.
* Organise and follow up of freight pick-ups for internal and interstate samples.
* Liaising with clients (internal and external) regarding sample submissions.
* Maintaining filing systems and documentation.
* Perform general housekeeping duties.
* Maintaining an excellent standard of occupational health and safety.
The Essentials:

* Superior attention to detail and a commitment to complete high-quality work.
* Excellent computer skills including MS Office suite; experience with a LIMS system would be beneficial.
* Ability to process multiple concurrent requests efficiently and accurately.
* An understanding of laboratory safety and chemical hazards.
* Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to absorb and retain high levels of information.
