We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Lewes, a category B Prison located in Lewes.
Hours
The site currently offers a 4 shifts a week between Monday - Sunday, 7am - 5:30pm.
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £41,265per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
1. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning. You will deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the center of our healthcare wellbeing model.
2. You must be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users. You will monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers.

13. Experience of working with opiate dependant patients is advantageous for this role, as well as sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.

You will work with individuals, on a 1-1 basis, providingadvice and information. You will support in group work delivery and liaise withprescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions. You willoccasionally be required to support dispensing. You must have an understandingand commitment to recovery and a person centred approach.
You will also encourage patient involvement in regime andtherapeutic activities and create a physical and psychological environmentconducive to high quality care. You willassess individuals health needs using an evidenced based framework and reviewmedication for therapeutic effectiveness appropriate to the service usersneeds in accordance with evidence based practice, national and Practice PlusGroup protocols.
