Job Description:
Archer Resourcing has a great position for a Supervising Contact Support Worker to join the dedicated team in Slough.
As a Supervising Contact Support Worker, you will ensure that direct supervised contact activity for children and young people in care is of a high standard. You will undertake activities and interventions as agreed by the case-holding Social Worker, as well as contribute to assessing, managing, and dealing with challenging situations. Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds and with professionals such as Social Workers, Independent Reviewing Officers, and Foster Carers is required.
Responsibilities include:
* Build strong, effective relationships with young people and their families/carers to encourage engagement according to the child's needs.
* Safely transport children and young people within the borough.
* Objectively record interactions during contact sessions.
* Produce contact reports in the required format for the Local Authority.
* Report back to line managers or professionals regarding contact sessions as needed.
* Attend Child Protection Conferences, Statutory Child Care reviews, and planning meetings when required.
* Act appropriately on Referral and Risk Assessment documents from Referrers.
* Observe and comply with the Local Authority’s equal opportunities policy, respecting individuals regardless of culture, disability, or gender.
* Attend all mandatory training as per role requirements.
* Participate in case and personal supervisions regularly.
Requirements:
* Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism.
* Knowledge of and commitment to equal opportunities and policies related to Children Looked After.
* Ability to supervise contact between a child and their family.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with children and adults.
* Ability to adapt to a changing and complex environment.
* An enhanced DBS check, dated within the last 12 months. If on the update service, you may be fast-tracked through recruitment.
* Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if not currently held.
