The Story Museum is looking for a part time Head of Finance to manage the Museum's financial and reporting cycle and to provide accurate and timely data and analysis in support of our dynamic, sustainable business model. As an active member of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Finance will contribute to strategic discussion and planning around the charity's ongoing impact evaluation and organisation-wide projects to deliver its mission to enrich lives through stories.
Key responsibilities include driving the creation of the annual operational budget and financial forecasting for the charity and its subsidiary trading company, providing timely management accounts and managing restricted project funds and capital budgets as required. The postholder will help continue to develop the Museum's data-led analysis to inform ongoing business planning and options appraisals, as well as maintaining the necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure an effective and efficient finance function. This includes active management of the museum's cash flow, responsibility for payroll and VAT returns and all aspects of the charity's statutory tax and financial regulatory reporting.
The successful candidate will need to be a full or part-qualified accountant (CIPFA, CIMA, ACA or ACCA or equivalent qualification), with wide-ranging experience of financial management in a complex organisation with multiple income streams.
This is a part time 0.6 FTE role on a permanent contract.
