As the Legal Counsel/ Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for leading on complex client contracts and supplier agreements. You will have the opportunity to provide legal support on business critical projects, as well as lead non-business critical projects when applicable. Your key responsibilities will include:
Drafting and negotiating strategic and commercially important contracts for domestic and international business divisions, collaborating with colleagues from various functions to align with preferred commercial and legal risk positions
Providing legal support to the Procurement Department in procurement exercises, ensuring terms and conditions are favourable for the organisation
Participating in business projects, offering guidance and solutions to ensure legal issues do not become barriers
Assisting with various legal matters, including contract interpretation, assessing commercial options, maintaining contract records, updating legal documents, and delivering training on key legal issues to colleagues
Building relationships with commercial colleagues and promoting awareness of legal risk management and corporate policy issues through formal and informal trainingEssential (Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience):
Degree in Law, with a solid understanding of contract and corporate law
Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a minimum of two years' experience working with commercial organisations
Experience in negotiation, drafting, and advising on complex, long-term service contracts and IT contracts
Strong background in contract law and general business law, such as data protection, intellectual property, TUPE, consumer protection law, advertising and promotions, and competition law
Motivation to continuously develop legal knowledge and expertiseDesirable (Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience):
Experience in handling corporate support work and providing ad hoc company/commercial legal advice
Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and drafting corporate documents
Ability to identify and research various legal issues and assess their impact on the organisationHow to Apply:
