About the role
Due to the company rebuilding their commercial team, there is a need for a Quantity Surveyor to support the senior quantity surveyor within the Highways maintenance sector of the company. You will be responsible for managing costs with the goal of maximizing profit for the company on the projects you'll be working on and ensuring delivery of payment while developing client relationships. The successful individual will be involved in viewing and evaluating payments, including site measurements, and will undertake general surveying of projects as required, including reviewing and pricing of variations and preparing valuations with Project Managers and the Commercial Director.
The projects that you'll be involved in will range from highways term maintenance works to bridge infrastructure around the Bath area. My client has a ten-year framework with the local council, and that is the project that you will be working on.
Benefits and rewards

You'll be required to have a good standard of education, preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND, HNC) in Construction, Civils, commercial management, or quantity surveying or an equivalent qualification.
It's important to have experience working within highways for a tier 1 or tier 2 company as a quantity surveyor and to show good long-term stability at the companies you have worked for.
You'll also need a full UK driver's license to allow you to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require to visit.
