Role Overview
We are looking for a Paint and Prep Technician to carry out all Bodyshop work in an efficient and safe manner, to meet the business requirements and maximise workshop utilisation and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities as a Paint and Prep Technician will be:
1. To accurately undertake the preparation and repainting of motor vehicles.
2. Fulfil all tasks to the customer's complete satisfaction.
3. Detect and diagnose any additional faults for further repair.
4. Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with the retailer, manufacturer, and industry guidelines.
5. Carry out all repairs according to best practice procedures.
6. Use all paint mixing schemes and drying areas/equipment accurately for all paint repairs.
7. Coach and support apprentice technicians.
8. Attend specialised training as required.
9. Participate in ongoing training and development to ensure product and service knowledge is up to date.
10. Contribute to local and companywide process improvements and innovations.
11. Mentor and provide guidance to apprentice technicians, where applicable.
About You
As a Paint and Prep Technician, you will ideally have the following skills and attributes:
1. Excellent attention to detail.
2. Strong experience in car preparation and painting.
3. Experience within the accident repair and Bodyshop industry.
4. Level 3 qualification or equivalent is an advantage but not essential.
