Our client is an iconic designer-led retailer providing a point of difference in the high street that reflects quality, style and a level of customer service that cannot be matched elsewhere.
They are looking to grow their Finance Department with the addition of a Management Accountant. The role will support in all aspects of operating the finance departments for the group, but in particular in the areas of cost control and variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting, stock management, and payroll. This position will also deputise for the Finance Controller when required.
What you'll be doing as their Management Accountant?
Finance:
* Assist in the process of developing and reviewing budgets
* Create monthly budget reports
* Support with annual forecast/accounts
* Produce analytical reports to help in business decision making
* Analyse stock purchases and gross profit performance
* Support in payment of debtors and invoicing of creditors
* Support in ensuring tax calculations and payments of VAT are accurate
* Support the Finance Controller in conducting regular audit visits to all stores
* Ensure finance records are kept accurately and securely in line with legislative requirements
Administration:
* Support the preparation of monthly MA journals and reports for stores and group
* Prepare monthly stock management reports
* Prepare monthly concession remittance
* Weekly checks of credit card/sales banking
* Packaging monthly ordering and distribution, and annual submission
* Review expense headings on a regular basis looking for a more cost effective way
Customer Accounts:
* To be aware of current consumer credit legislation including GDPR and ensure the business is compliant
Payroll:
* When necessary, assist with the preparation and processing of the monthly payroll run, including management checks and reporting
Other:
* Gain an understanding of the Purchase Ledger functionality and support as necessary

* Part / fully qualified AAT, CIMA, ACCA etc.
* High level of computer literacy – needs to be a proficient user of financial systems
* Advanced Excel skills
* Excellent written, verbal communication and listening skills
