Quality Inspector – Fabrication & Welding Specialist / CSWIP 3.1 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented Quality Inspector with a strong background in fabrication and welding to join our client, a leader in manufacturing and engineering for critical sectors including nuclear. This role involves hands-on inspection at supplier sites and in-house, ensuring products meet rigorous quality and safety standards. About the Quality Inspector role: This key position will have you working directly within our client’s supply chain, conducting inspections across various supplier sites mainly in Northern England and occasionally in Nottinghamshire. The Quality Inspector will approve Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), coordinate with client inspectors, and engage in quality checks across multiple project phases. You’ll also contribute to critical projects in highly regulated sectors. Key Responsibilities as a Quality Inspector Oversee manufacturing inspections within the supply chain, ensuring compliance with ITPs. Conduct visual inspections and review technical drawings for weld and manufacturability details. Develop and maintain weld maps and schedules, supporting in-house welder qualification updates. Drive quality initiatives, establishing internal weld matrices and procedures. Qualifications: Essential: PCN Level 2 or CSWIP 3.1 Visual Inspection qualification and a clean driving license. Desirable: MPI qualification (PCN Level 2), experience with paint inspection, and a background in nuclear or oil & gas sectors. Security clearance eligibility is required.
