New Business Development Sales Executive
Our client is a long-established independent market leading plumbing and heating merchant, supplying materials to plumbers for almost 50 years. They have built a reputation for providing excellent customer service and have developed long trading relationships with various companies. They focus on developing new business with a recognized product range and have achieved solid growth in the last 5 years, with a sound business plan for future growth. They are looking to hire an exceptional New Business Development Sales Executive for the Midlands to focus on new customer development and delivering net new business.
Role Overview:
The role of the External Sales Rep is pivotal in driving net new business sales and delivering growth in your geographic area. You will have 10 years of direct sales experience working for a merchant, preferably selling plumbing supplies. Reporting to the Sales Director, you will target potential new customers, selling the value of the service that our client offers. The successful candidate will deliver a high level of customer satisfaction in every engagement and demonstrate innovative ways to deliver new business while maintaining margin.
Responsibilities:
1. Own sales budget and deliver year-on-year growth.
2. Build and manage client relationships involving all stakeholders.
3. Relate to people at all levels within client organizations.
4. Manage a contact matrix ensuring all potential points of contact are served appropriately.
5. Build trust across client organizations.
6. Retain overall responsibility for profit/loss and growth in key accounts.
7. Understand and anticipate client needs and communicate this back to internal stakeholders.
8. Use sales tools to bring fresh insight to clients' businesses.
9. Maintain cross-functional relationships to deliver best service levels.
10. Attend and present area summary updates at monthly sales meetings.
Requirements:
1. 10 years plus experience of sales in a plumber’s merchant.
2. Demonstrable track record of overachieving sales quotas.
3. Service-oriented approach to selling.
4. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
5. Accountable for actions and outcomes.
6. Good closer; comfortable seeking business opportunities.
7. Fearless in having tough conversations when needed.
8. Trustworthy; earning and retaining trust of customers and colleagues.
9. Must have a valid UK driving license.
