CPL's Health division is currently recruiting a Band 5 Paediatric Occupational Therapist for a special school in Buckinghamshire.
My client is a multi-professional therapy practice, providing specialist therapy services to children aged 0-18 years. Children present with a variety of diagnoses, including Sensory Processing Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Dyspraxia, Cerebral Palsy, Dyslexia, Speech and Language delay/disorders, attachment and trauma difficulties, global developmental delay, or neurological disorders.
They follow a 3-step approach:
1. IDENTIFY: Following a comprehensive assessment package, areas of strength and challenge for the child will be identified.
2. EDUCATE: Now equipped to share knowledge, my client educates everyone working with the child to ensure their unique needs are fully understood and supported.
3. ACCELERATE: Within each therapeutic treatment package, a designated therapist will work with the school, family, and the child to provide personal therapy, individualised goals, and specific activity programmes to ensure therapy addresses their unique needs and supports them to reach their full potential at a pace and intensity that is just right for them.
This post will involve direct work with children and young people with Autism and other complex needs, as listed above. The purpose of the role is to support therapists, including Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Physiotherapists, in the provision and further development of high-quality therapeutic work. The post holder will implement a range of therapy interventions under the guidance of the relevant therapist, which will involve producing therapy resources.
