Puratos UK is part of an international baking, patisserie and chocolate ingredients business with over 100 years of rich and varied knowledge. It uses the latest consumer insight, research and technology, combined with knowledge of food around the world, to offer creativity and new ingredient solutions through its highly regarded UK Innovation Centre.
Your role as R&D Project Leader (KTP Associate) will be to develop and apply a model-based approach to quantify the functional properties of natural dietary fibre ingredients in bakery products, and to embed this novel approach into Puratos’ new product development systems.
As R&D Project Leader (KTP Associate), you will be highly numerate and have excellent practical laboratory skills, with the ability to generate high quality experimental data and to model and interpret this data. You will be liaising with company R&D staff, management and customers; hence you will also bring excellent people and communication skills and the drive and initiative to deliver and embed new knowledge within the company. You will have a 2:1 or above honours degree in chemical or food process engineering or a closely related discipline. Postgraduate (MSc/PhD) applicants with industrial experience are particularly encouraged to apply for this opportunity.
This KTP is a 36-month project between the University of Huddersfield (School of Applied Sciences) and Puratos UK. The package includes a technical and personal training allowance plus the opportunity to register for a CMI Diploma in Management. KTP Associates are also encouraged to attain membership of a professional organisation.
