West Central London Mind is offering a unique opportunity for qualified counsellors to join its Talking Therapies and Wellbeing Service, working as a Step 3 IAPT Counsellor as part of a redesigned and collaborative model of care in Westminster. The Role: Step 3 IAPT Counsellor The Step 3 IAPT Counsellor will play a critical role within this stepped-care framework. The post-holder will provide NICE-recommended high intensity psychological therapies for individuals experiencing moderate to severe depression. Interventions will be delivered using one or more of the approved therapeutic modalities, including Counselling for Depression (CfD), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT). Main duties of the job Administrative and Governance Duties In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Step 3 IAPT Counsellor will have some administrative tasks, such as: Completing and submitting performance and outcome data. Ensuring all documentation is GDPR-compliant and up to date. Adhering to the service's policies on safeguarding, clinical risk, and health and safety. Participating in audits and evaluations to help the service meet local and national quality standards. Strong record-keeping and adherence to service protocols will be essential to ensure quality and consistency of care. Person Specification: What Were Looking For Essential Criteria: Accreditation or registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. BACP, UKCP, BABCP). Post-qualification experience delivering psychological therapy, ideally within an IAPT setting. Formal training in one or more of the following modalities: CfD, IPT, or DIT. Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a multidisciplinary team. Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage a varied caseload and meet service targets. High level of emotional resilience and ability to maintain professional boundaries. Desirable Criteria: Experience working with diverse communities and understanding of the cultural dynamics affecting mental health. Fluency in additional languages spoken within the borough (e.g. Arabic, Bengali, Somali) is an asset. Experience in remote/online therapy delivery.
