Job Title : Pre-Prep Teacher (EYFS)
Reporting To: Head of Prep-Prep
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher who will inspire some of our younger children (Reception onwards) to love their learning in our happy family school. This post becomes available in February 2025 may suit a person who has recently qualified.
Key Responsibilities:
* Academic and pastoral care for a Pre-Prep form (Reception).
* Foster a love of learning in all children, delivering innovative lessons across the curriculum.
* To ensure that the children’s pastoral needs are met fully so that they feel safe and happy coming to school.
* Set and maintain good standards of discipline and behaviour inside and outside the classroom, encouraging the children to be kind and thoughtful.
* Plan, present and mark work in a professional manner and in accordance with school policies.
* Ensure differentiation is appropriate, including provision for AGT and SEND.
* Foster a love of learning in all children, delivering innovative lessons across the curriculum.
* Encourage children to develop lively, enquiring minds.
* Track and monitor children’s progress, developing programmes of extension or support for those who need it.
* Encourage and maintain excellent communication with parents of children in the form.
* Maintain a happy working environment, including stimulating displays of children’s work.
* Play a full role in the extra-curricular life of the school.
* Organise appropriate educational visits.
* Liaise with the Head of Pre-Prep / Director of Studies over curricular / academic concerns regarding pupils.
* Liaise with the Head of Pre-Prep / Deputy Head over pastoral and behavioural concerns regarding pupils.
* Keep up to date with educational issues, attending INSET and other CPD opportunities.
* Be an excellent role model for the pupils.
* Fully support the ethos and aims of the school.
Skills and Qualifications
* Graduate, qualified teacher.
* Outstanding classroom practitioner with some experience of teaching in EYFS & KS1 would be highly desirable.
* Good understanding of current educational theory and practice.
* Good understanding of independent schools and their rationale.
* Evidence of commitment to CPD.
* Commitment shown in other areas, eg music, sport, drama.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills.

* Innovative and a creative thinker, able to inspire children in and out of the classroom
