The Hydraulic and Industrial Process Filtration EMEA (HIFE) division has 3 Business Units – Hydraulic & Lube Filtration, Condition Monitoring and Industrial Process & Refined Fuels. Employing c300 employees and with locations in the UK, Nordics, Dubai, Benelux and the Czech Republic, the division brings together expertise in diverse and complex markets. These markets include Oli & Gas/Chemicals, Mobile, Hydrogen, Marine and Power Generation. This position will support the Industrial Process business and will be based at the division’s headquarters in Gateshead, UK. Reporting to the Sourcing and Procurement Manager and part of the division’s Supply Chain team, the job holder will work closely with the Project Engineering team to ensure that key projects are delivered and customer metrics achieved to meet business performance targets. Develop and implement sourcing strategy to support the HIFE Capital Projects team. Develop and manage suppliers to meet the current and future needs of the capital projects business. Identify areas of risk in the supply chain and implement plans to mitigate risks, escalating whenever necessary. Proactively liaise with the Project Engineering team pre- and post-customer order on all projects to fully understand technical, commercial and time scale requirements and develop a supply chain project plan which ensures supply chain activities for all projects are coordinated and effectively managed. Benchmark suppliers, analyse pricing trends and utilise cost models to defend against price increases, achieve price decreases and best total cost of ownership solutions. Track all material costs against initial estimates and escalate any risk of margin erosion with project teams and Sourcing and Procurement Manager Develop and maintain a robust list of approved suppliers capable of supporting multiple projects across the required markets, applications and geographies of the Division and its customers. Develop supplier relationships and drive improvement in supplier performance. Effectively manage the impact on inventory value of all material movements, projects and product life cycles Ensure all supplier or sub-contract activities are performed safely with zero accidents and promote the reporting of near hit incidents across the business. Ensure use of preferred carrier agreements where practicable and logistic analysis is conducted to determine most cost effective and efficient transport modes. Preparation of enquiries, presentation of quotation analysis, and raising of PO’s for capital project requirements Proactively resolve invoice discrepancies Ensure Parker systems and processes are fully supported and utilised to improve all supply chain activities. Ideally qualified to degree level in a relevant engineering/business discipline along with CIPS’s qualification or equivalent professional (Membership preferred) Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of basic manufacturing technologies (e.g. fabrication, machining, forging) Experience in the following: Negotiations, supplier, total cost and price analysis Supplier auditing Purchasing and quality procedures and standards Project Management Logistics Contract and purchasing law. Strong team player with excellent communications skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
