Our advanced manufacturing site in Telford is one of our main processing facilities, processing up to 1.5 million birds per week. There are over 1,200 talented people employed at our Telford site, helping us to deliver high quality products to our customers.
We’ve recently invested £2.3 million in technology and equipment, making it one of the most advanced food manufacturing facilities in the UK.
About the Role:

We are looking for a highly competent and motivated HR Advisor to join our HR Team on a fixed term contract to cover Maternity, based at our Telford site. The role is office based, but you may be required to enter the Factory environment.
What will you be doing as a HR Advisor at Avara?
As a HR Advisor, you will ensure the effective day to day running of the HR office by setting up, monitoring and continually improving systems and procedures.
What will your key responsibilities include?
* Provide advice on all ER matters and ensure all complaints and disciplinary hearings are conducted in line with the Complaints/Grievance and Disciplinary guidelines.
* Provide advice and guidance to Managers on our Absence Policy and Procedures.
* Proactive management of long-term sickness and health conditions cases.
* Be the first point of contact for managing maternity, paternity, and flexible working cases.
* Process new starters, leavers, and contractual changes.
* Support managers with probationary review meetings.
* Manage and review 60 hours process flagging breaches to HRO / Line Manager.
* Support with any HR related projects.
* Respond to telephone and email queries.
* Carry out exit interviews and record data to find trends.
* Support the Resourcing department and line managers with interviews.
* Help with the Company’s induction programme for all new starters.
What you’ll need to be successful:
* Up to date experience and confident in usage of Microsoft Office and HR packages.
* Good working knowledge of employment law.
* CIPD qualified or working towards is desirable.
* Experience of working within a manufacturing or fast-paced organisation.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask.
* Drive to improve performance and deliver outstanding results.
* Results oriented with an emphasis on quality and teamwork.
* Methodical with attention to detail.
* Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external contacts.
* Ability to handle conflict/confrontation effectively.
* High level of personal integrity demonstrating respect and empathy for others.
* Proven experience in a unionised environment would be beneficial but not essential.
