Job Description
I have an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with a background in infrastructure to join a specialist multi-disciplined tier 1 contractor who work nationwide, known for their specialist rope access and rail services.
You'll be joining their expanding commercial team, reporting to the Head of Commercial and will be responsible for the end-to-end commercial process from the administration to the management of rail frameworks and infrastructure contracts.
Key responsibilities for this Quantity Surveyor role:
- Manage and monitor project costs, including weekly P&L reporting.
- Review contract documents and advise on any issues.
- Track progress and cash flow forecast information.
- Take responsibility for subcontract management, including subcontract forecasting, raising subcontractor orders and negotiating subcontract terms.
- Prepare subcontract documents, enquiries and assessment of quotations.
- Attend risk review, progress and commercial meetings on-site with the client.
- Assist credit control with cash recovery and forecasting.
- Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment applications to clients, along with the agreement of final accounts.
Experience required for this Quantity Surveyor role:
- Quantity Surveying degree/certification - desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years QS experience
- Demonstratable financial and commercial acumen.
- Sound knowledge of NEC/NWR Contracts
- Highly organised, accuracy and attention to detail
- Previous experience within rail preferred but not essential
Package offered for this Quantity Surveyor role:
- Salary £40,000
- 30 days annual leave
- Company Pension

- 40 hours week, Mon-Fri
- Occasional travel to other sites
