Description Why we need your help: At the Cardiff & Vale hospice we are developing a variety of groups to meet different needs in the community. To be able to offer these groups we need a team of friendly volunteers who are happy to support people with varying needs and cognitive abilities, including those with dementia. You will be providing emotional support and companionship within a group setting, and assisting the wellbeing staff with activities. What we need you to do Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following duties: Making people feel welcome Providing 1-1 support and companionship Enabling people to join in activities Offering a listening ear and engaging in conversation Assisting wellbeing staff with facilitating the group Assisting with food and drink Being part of a team Helping to keep group areas tidy and safe Provide support to people with dementia Supporting people staying on the inpatient unit What skills or experience are we looking for?
