Job Description: Relationship Manager - Commercial Insurance Location: Suffolk/Ipswich Area Inherit an existing book of business valued at approximately £100k, with potential for more based-on experience Work Arrangement: Out on the road; office presence required 2-3 days a week Package: £40,000 - £60,000 Car Allowance About the client – My client is a prominent independent Chartered Insurance Broker based in Ipswich, offering business insurance solutions to organisations in Suffolk and beyond. Due to growth and additional business they are now looking for an Account Executive to join them. Key Responsibilities: Portfolio Management: Successfully lead and manage a portfolio of existing client accounts in collaboration with Client Executives. New Business Development: Work closely with the Finance and Commercial Director to engage in new business activities and achieve targets aligned with the business plan. Client Engagement: Conduct face-to-face meetings with both existing clients and new prospects to: Develop a strong understanding of clients’ businesses, their risk attitudes, and approaches to insurance and risk management. Identify client needs and demands, including gaps in cover and cross-sell/upsell opportunities. Relationship Building: Build and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, colleagues, insurers, and partners, contributing to the overall business strategy and vision. Quality Assurance: Support the Operations Manager in maintaining service quality and pursuing continuous improvement. Mentorship: Act as a role model and technical referral point, sharing knowledge and experience with the Client Servicing team. Networking: Establish a respected presence in the industry through participation in relevant networking organisations. Required Skills and Experience: Commercial Insurance Experience within a new business or an account handling capacity Strong client advocate focused on achieving excellent client outcomes. Effective influencer and negotiator, maintaining excellent working relationships at all levels. Problem solver with a resourceful, collaborative, and analytical mindset. Excellent communicator with strong presentation and report writing skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Minimum qualification: Cert CII (preferably higher). Competent user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experienced with Acturis (preferable).
