This is an exciting opportunity to join our Hospitality and Catering Team within the Café in the Crypt of Rochester Cathedral.
The café is a popular place for refreshments, and we require additional cover at peak times. The role covers all aspects of supporting the Hospitality & Catering Manager and Café Supervisor in the daily running of the café, including food and drink preparation, serving customers, using the till, cash handling and card transactions, clearing tables and maintaining all hygiene and health and safety standards.
This role is fixed term for a period of six months, with the possibility of an extension.
Hours: The role is part-time 12 hours per week, to be worked over 3 days. Two posts are available.
The core hours for the post will be 11 am to 3 pm, and the post holder will be required to work during the school holidays.
The café's operating hours are 9 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Saturday, so overtime may occasionally be available.
The successful candidate will be expected to be reliable, friendly, flexible, have good communication skills and be focused on delivering exceptional levels of customer service.
The post holder will report to the Hospitality & Catering Manager and will work closely with others working in the Cathedral.
A Basic DBS check will be required for this post.
If you would like to have an informal discussion about the post, please email Dee Thompson, demelza.thompson@rochestercathedral.org and Colin Tolhurst, colin.tolhurst@rochestercathedral.org and they will arrange a suitable time for a telephone conversation.
