We are now recruiting for a Head of Quality to join us on our major projects located in Aldermaston. Purpose and Scope: Supports the Quality Director to plans and direct activities concerned with the development, application, and implementation of a Quality programme in the UK that is compliant with ISO 9001. The role is required for a major multi-billion dollar capital nuclear design and construction programme and is responsible for both quality assurance and quality control. Responsibilities: Deputise and support the Quality Director for the development, implementation, and administration of Quality Assurance/ Quality Control programme(s), on multiple quality projects with high financial risk and complexity. Ensure that the quality programme is delivered by supporting and directing a team of Quality professionals as they Interact with suppliers, project teams, and the client. Perform quality assessments on tenders. Attend any client meetings/networking events or conferences to represent the Amentum Organisation. Participate in Senior Leadership Team meetings, deputising for QD where required. Engage with the Quality Project Teams and client to ensure that inspection and testing requirements are carried out across the Porgramme(s). Ensure that an audit Programme is maintained at both project level and programme level and that any potential efficiencies such as collaboration with the client as identified. Manage any business or project-level KPIs to ensure that targets are on track to being met. Ensure that work is being completed to support the KPIs. Work with the Quality team to help to manage the NCR programme to ensure robust corrective actions are identified and implemented within allotted timescales. Support the Quality and Project Team by recommending corrective actions to quality problems. Ensure that client requirements are flowed down into appropriate procedures and documents and that the supply chain is aware of the requirements through regular sessions via the Amentum QA staff. Help to manage resource deployment and contribute to the professional development of the QA staff Implement and manage the Document Control Manager and oversee the document control process and systems. Ensure compliance with Document Control procedures and policies. Contribute to the company management system, specifically the Quality Management System and the Programme-specific Management System. May work in any of the following areas of quality control/assurance engineering: design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, inventory control, product reliability, research and development and administrative application. Interface with the Amentum UK QA function and play a role on the QA FACT team (International). Helps to drive organizational understanding of sound quality methodologies in all its work and that a set of metrics is developed and used to accurately, timely, and cost effectively measure and communicate quality performance. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested by Line Manager. Qualifications & Experience: Ideally hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or other related degree or demonstrated equivalent and extensive experience in area of specialization with proven quality management experience The ability to lead and manage a team ISO 9001 Lead Auditor (qualified) Experience of working in highly regulated industry will be advantageous (nuclear preferred) Experienced in the management of the Document Control Function and have good working knowledge of document control systems Supplier Auditing experience (Essential) An excellent grasp of NCR generation and management Proficient understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and the ability to train others to understand the standard Understanding of ISO 14001 / 45001 / 44001 requirement Experience and understanding of process improvement. Membership of appropriate professional body (I.e., CQI) Excellent Microsoft office skills as well as reporting applications such a Power BI Be able to present and analyse data in a variety of means Excellent time management, planning, organisation and prioritisation skills Must be willing to train and learn, with continued CPD Must have experience of working within large teams and have excellent interpersonal skills, recognizing the importance of building great relationships with colleagues and clients.
