Successful candidates will join a state-of-the-art facility and support the team conducting testing and research on the latest technologies and innovations in the industry. You will work alongside our infrastructure and Cybersecurity professionals to ensure that the UK’s world class Telecoms infrastructure grows in a resilient and secure manner, underpinning growth in other industry sectors.
As a trusted and independent national capability, UKTL interacts with standards bodies, Academia, Government Departments, Communications Service Providers, and equipment vendors.
Internally this role will be called 'Senior Automation Specialist'
Successful Applicants must be able to commute to the UKTL offices in Birmingham with the possibility of hybrid working.

Main Responsibilities
1. Architect and implement the orchestration of security testing.
2. Play a key part in maturing in-house security tools from creation to automation.
3. Provide technical direction and mentorship to the DevOps team.
4. Serve as a point of escalation regarding technical issues within the DevOps team.
5. Produce automated reporting on results from testing.
6. Help identify improvement opportunities or suggest new methods of testing.
7. Take the lead on the DevOps and CI/CD pipeline.
Key Requirements
1. Experience working with automation and orchestration tooling such as Ansible or Salt.
2. Knowledge or practical experience of security testing methods and tooling.
3. Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
4. Experience of taking ownership and leading delivery to agreed outcomes.
5. Architect and implement tooling required.
6. Experience of software development.
