Carbon Asset Manager – Portfolio Management – Private Markets - London
This is a great job for someone with previous knowledge of voluntary carbon market standards and methodologies looking to get involved in a new fund launch and own the asset management of that process.
A bit about the job:
Reporting to the Director of Natural Capital, this role is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation who is scaling up their exposure to natural capital and nature-based solutions. Our portfolio focuses on carbon removal solutions and has a mandate to invest across both developed and emerging markets.
The role is ideal for someone who has been working on the technical side of carbon projects but wants exposure to the investment lifecycle. Although based in London, this role deals directly with project development teams located around the globe and will act as the interface between them and the wider fund management team. You will manage relationships with portfolio partner developers who are implementing NbS carbon removal projects under globally recognised certification standards (Verra, Gold Standards, WCC among others).
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Proven experience in leading the drafting of PDDs and strong technical knowledge of the major carbon removal voluntary carbon market standards and methodologies.
* Experience in successfully developing NbS carbon projects for validation and verification under the VCS and CCB and/or Gold Standard with a strong leaning to carbon removal projects.
* Familiarity with current methodologies and developing innovations in measurement and monitoring for carbon stocks and GHG emissions.
* Understanding of the challenges and practicalities of carbon removal project development and implementation on-the-ground.
* Analytical background with an understanding of ARR project cashflows and strong proficiency in Excel.
What you’ll get for this role:
* Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
* Eligibility for annual performance bonus.
* Family friendly parental and carer’s leave.
* Generous holiday entitlement plus bank holidays with the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days.
* Up to 40% discount for Aviva products.
* Brilliant flexible benefits including electric cars.
* Aviva Matching Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme.
* 21 volunteering hours per year.
