Are you passionate about improving the lives of children and young people? Do you want to work for an employer who places major importance on high quality supervision, well-being and career development?
Please note this a career graded role. If you are appointed to a Grade 7 position, in addition to the salary advertised you will receive a market premium of £2,750 per annum.
As a children’s social worker, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to shape futures and create lasting positive memories. Your role will be more than a job, it’ll be a chance to be a friend, mentor and advocate. You’ll work closely with children, families, schools, and other professionals to ensure that every child’s unique needs are met. Your empathy, patience and dedication will be the driving force behind meaningful change in their lives.
At Buckinghamshire Council we have an opportunity for a high calibre experienced Social Worker in our First Response MASH team.
The role will involve joining a busy, fast paced MASH team whose paramount objective is always a child's well being and safety.
About the role
In this post, you will respond to queries and referrals from a number of different sources and make contact with families and partner agencies.
Working under an extremely supportive Head of Service, you will work closely with the Assessment Teams in ensuring children and families are effectively transferred with appropriate risk assessments, priority status and initial recommendations.
We also require our social workers within this team to provide day to day support and coaching to our Contact and Referral Officers who also work within the team.
In return we offer you a safe working environment, office-based, where you will receive excellent training, development and peer supervision forums. You will have regular quality one to one supervision sessions and group supervisions where complex cases are discussed.
About you
You will be a Qualified Social Worker (DipSW or equivalent) with at least two years post qualifying experience.
Experience of working within a MASH/Referral/Assessment environment would be desirable but not essential.
You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, and be able to work well under pressure.
Closing date
Midnight on Sunday 15th December 2024.
We reserve the right to close the vacancy once we have received sufficient applications, so please be advised to submit your application as early as possible.
