An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented specialist doctor to join the Neurology Department at The James Cook University Hospital.
Main Duties of the Job
To provide, in conjunction with Consultant and multi-disciplinary team colleagues, a comprehensive Neurology service.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
* Full GMC registration
* MRCP or equivalent
* Relevant CCT or equivalent ('equivalence' must be confirmed by PMETB/GMC by date of AAC)
* Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
Clinical Experience and Effectiveness
* Training and Experience in Acute Neurology
* Training and Experience in the management of Acute Stroke and TIA
* Evidence of clinical audit
* Understanding of clinical governance and a readiness to accept and acknowledge the responsibilities it implies
* Wide range of experience in Neurology
Management & Administrative Experience
* Evidence of management and administration experience
* Management training
* Success in obtaining funding for research
Teaching and Training Experiences
* Experience of supervising junior medical staff
* Other teaching skills/experience
Personal Attributes
* Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, relatives, GPs, nurses and other agencies
* Enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure
* Good organisational and management skills
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
* Caring attitude to patients
* Commitment to good team working and relationships
* Commitment to training and continuing medical education (CME)
* Clear recognition of boundaries in respect of sessional work outside the hospital
* IT Skills
* Experience in team working outside of work
* Hold a current and in-date valid driving licence or provides an undertaking to provide alternative means of transport

* Flexibility to respond to changing service needs

Salary: £59,175 to £95,400 a year (pro rata)
