Quality Controller Annual Salary: £25,000 Location: Great Yarmouth Job Type: Full-time, Permanent We are seeking a dedicated Quality Controller to join our technical team. This role is crucial for conducting wheat testing and ensuring adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP) throughout the day. The Quality Controller will work closely with the Mill Manager, the Technical Manager, and the Head of Manufacturing to maintain workflow and productivity. This is a dynamic role offering the opportunity to make a significant impact within the organisation. Day-to-day of the role: Take ownership of health and safety for yourself and others, ensuring all procedures are followed and promoting safe working practices. Conduct wheat testing using calibrated testing equipment and take samples to check the quality of the wheat. Perform regular GMP and hygiene audits, including glass and hard plastic audits. Actively participate in pest control activities, work with contractors during inspections, and ensure all pest management recommendations are implemented. Conduct routine weekly reviews of traceability for semolina and flour products leaving the Mill. Assist with food and/or quality investigations in liaison with the Technical Manager. Send product samples to external labs for testing as required. Maintain the laboratory environments to an adequate hygienic standard. Perform other quality and food safety related tasks as instructed by the Technical Manager. Required Skills & Qualifications: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. High level of personal accountability and excellent organisational skills. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. Confident in dealing with and communicating across all levels of the business. Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure in a demanding environment. Computer literate. Experience in handling audits and interacting with visitors. Ability to positively represent the technical team on a day-to-day basis. Effective collaboration with Production and Engineering teams to resolve issues. Champion for Quality and Technical standards within the business.
