Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to join a thriving, independent practice in a popular market town in the West Midlands? Our client is a modern first opinion small animal practice with two branches in the area. They take pride in having a multicultural team with a wealth of experience and a collaborative spirit. The practice performs a wide range of procedures, from routine neutering and dental work to more advanced BOAS and orthopaedic surgeries. Their dedicated team works harmoniously, fostering a supportive and friendly environment that is highly valued.
Both practices are equipped with the latest technology, and the team is passionate about investing in new advancements to provide the best possible care. They are now seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 RVN/SVN's, and 2 kennel assistants. Your role will include:
1. Admitting and discharging patients for routine operations
2. Staying informed on preventative healthcare
3. Maintaining product knowledge
4. Adhering to practice policies
5. Running nurse clinics
6. Ensuring proper clinical waste disposal
7. Maintaining effective stock control and rotation
The position involves working Monday to Friday with a 1:4 Saturday rota, with a day off in lieu. The standard working week consists of five days, although our client is open to offering part-time positions if required. Importantly, there are no out-of-hours requirements associated with this role, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.
The first practice caters to a variety of patients, including dogs, cats, and small furries. This branch is home to two vets and three nurses, with specialisms in Dentistry and Ultrasonography. The head nurse is currently pursuing surgical nursing training, adding to the depth of expertise within the team. The second practice is a 24-hour hospital branch that regularly handles complex cases, with a particular focus on emergency and critical care. The head vet has extensive experience, especially with bull breeds, and is a registered Cambridge BOAS assessor with a true passion for the breed.
To succeed in this role, you must be a fully qualified RVN dedicated to upholding high standards of patient care. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively within a team and provide support to colleagues.
