Job title: Senior Procurement Professional
Location:Weapon Systems UK, Sheffield
Salary: £45,383+ (Depending on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
* Discharging procurement activities in accordance with WSUK governance and compliance protocols, whilst also aiding in the development of effective policies and processes. Including PO creation, placement and management/maintenance up to completion, and resolution of Invoice queries with shared services.
* Supporting the Procurement Manager on the management of two major sub-contractors along with 2-3 smaller support suppliers in support of a UK MOD contract. Expediting supplier delivery to support PO delivery due dates, maintaining action logs to drive action resolution, attending and supporting the Procurement Manager at supplier reviews in person and virtually, and ensuring supplier engagement is managed and aligned to the latest WSUK supplier framework, procedures and practices.
* Manage risks and opportunities relating to operational and/or contractual performance, ensuring risks and opportunities are identified, assessed, managed, and escalated as appropriate to support programme delivery.
* Attend and support internal programme reviews, engaging with internal functional stakeholders and suppliers to ensure progress of priority actions outputted from these reviews.
* Represent the supply chain and act as supply chain lead at supplier and internal reviews when the Procurement Manager is not available.
* Support the Procurement Manager to lead any special projects or priority tasks in support of the programmes.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Experience in Operational Procurement, including sourcing, supplier due diligence, order book management, and continuous improvement.
* Subcontract experience, focusing on negotiation, influencing, contracting, and understanding the legal environment.
* Proficiency in Supplier Management, encompassing cost management, risk and opportunity management, supplier relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability.
* Experience with SAP preferred, or other ERP systems (Oracle, etc.), including experience with PO creation, maintenance, expedite, and invoicing.
* Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Desirable:
* CIPS, or relevant business experience in supply chain or a related area.
* Experience working in Aerospace or Defence industry.
