We're now recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join our busy manufacturing department at our North Shields site. What's the mission? In this exciting role, you will be accountable for the prioritisation of engineering activities at our North Shields site, ensuring that standards for health, safety and environment, quality, people and performance are delivered on both a personal and team level. You will play a key role in supporting and developing a strategy with the Site Operations Manager to meet and exceed KPIs in all areas, by ensuring that business objectives are embedded in the site culture, engaging the ‘hearts and minds’ of your colleagues to create and sustain a pro-active culture and instilling a proactive approach to the prevention of equipment failure and downtimes. In this exciting role, you will be supporting the production of our extensive range of protective street furniture and counter-terrorism products. Electrical and/or mechanical qualifications / time served apprenticeship ONC/HNC or equivalent in engineering related subject Hold 17th/18th Edition Certificate Experience of operating in a medium/large, manufacturing operation with relevant safety systems, quality standards, housekeeping standards etc Able to demonstrate the use of data / analytical skills Some experience of continuous improvement/lean manufacturing techniques Experience of fault finding and rectification Able to use initiative when working alone Able to work as part of a team Good technical communication skills Can read & understand technical drawings (mechanical & electrical) Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) What’s next?
