Our client in Swindon is looking for a Supply Chain Assistant.
This role is a permanent assignment and will start immediately following successful interview.
As a Supply Chain Assistant, you will be an integral part of our logistics team, responsible for a variety of critical tasks that ensure our product supply and management systems run seamlessly. Your role will focus on managing supplier relationships, processing orders, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods, both from local and international suppliers.
Duties:
1. Generate and Process Orders: Efficiently generate supplier orders from the UK & Europe, and process ‘Shopping Cart’ orders for genuine spares, ensuring accuracy and timeliness to meet company goals.
2. Order Management: Diligently check order confirmations against orders raised and communicate any cost variance to the relevant manager to maintain budget integrity.
3. Stock Management: Proactively respond to internal and external enquiries regarding ‘out of stock’ items and expected times of arrival (ETAs). Regularly update expected delivery dates in the system to keep all stakeholders informed.
4. Cost Analysis: Calculate the distribution of transport costs across deliveries to accurately reflect the true margin on the system, enhancing financial transparency and accountability.
5. Communication and Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and liaise effectively with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of information. Communicate with our contact in China regarding Branded Machines and branded spares imports.
6. Supply Chain Strategy: Monitor and identify changes in demand, adjusting replenishment levels as necessary. Use sales data to analyze product trends and prepare for expected sales.
7. System Updates and Maintenance: Process obsoletion through the system, inform Sales or Spares teams of back orders that cannot be fulfilled, and maintain up-to-date Availability Reports.
8. Invoice Management: Investigate any discrepancies in invoices and request credit notes as required, ensuring financial accuracy and reducing discrepancies.
9. Support Functions: Assist the Supply Chain Manager with various tasks, including the management of imports from China, enhancing the overall efficiency of the supply chain operations.
Requirements:
10. Proven experience in a supply chain or logistics role.
11. Strong organisational and communication skills.
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and any relevant software.
13. A keen eye for detail and the ability to multi-task effectively.
14. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
15. Excellent level of English and Mathematics
Pay:
16. £30,000 to £35,000 DOE
Shifts:
17. Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00
