My client situated in Halifax is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to add to their growing engineering team.
* Usual working pattern - Rotating 06.00-13.30/13.30-21.00 Monday to Friday NB. There will be an occasional need to work nights (Monday-Thursday 22.00-06.00).
* Salary weekly paid £22.82 per hour inclusive of shift premimum (£24.45 applicable for nights)
* Holidays 25 days per annum plus Bank Holidays.
* Production bonus Quarterly based on plant performance.
* Attendance bonus £600 paid as two payments, £300 in July & £300 in January.
* Pension 4.25%|
PURPOSE - Maintenance Engineer
1. Maintain and operate plant and equipment, and perform associated duties following a safe system of work (as laid down in the Departmental Training Programme).
2. Respond appropriately to unexpected and/or continuing situations, which develop in the work environment.
3. Carry out repairs or planned maintenance to equipment and may secure necessary materials and parts for the scheduled and unscheduled repairs.
4. Establish effective lines of communication and feedback with Maintenance management & Production departments to ensure prompt attention and resolution of conditions that impact the business.
5. Build and maintain history on equipment, assess breakdowns, prioritise and take appropriate corrective action. Provide technical assistance to ensure shortest possible machine downtime, recording and creating manuals & drawings for early machine recovery.
6. Identify faults and errors and use mental and physical judgement to overcome them.
7. Order required parts through Purchasing Buyer and follow up orders to ensure spare parts are fitted to the appropriate machine on delivery.
8. Process, review, and expedite work orders, modification and equipment drawings, schematics, check sheets, job instructions, and calibrations records.
9. Analyse downtime situations and develop and implement appropriate countermeasures to reduce and/or prevent future downtime and extend improvements to similar machines.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Maintenance Engineer
1. Maintain appropriate expertise in relevant discipline to ensure an effective technical level by utilising all resources available.
2. Advise on any improvements which could be made to new machines during design and manufacture of the machine at contractors.
3. Create Adjustment manuals and help create initial machine datasheets.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Maintenance Engineer
1. Knowledge of Maintenance policies, procedures, and terms.
2. Ability to undertake a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
3. Ability to comprehend complex instructions and respond effectively and perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly.
4. Knowledge of appropriate office software applications.
5. Excellent organisational and time management skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Maintenance Engineer
This job requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, colour determination (no colour blindness), near acuity, and smelling odours.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE - Maintenance Engineer
Educated to graduate level or equivalent in electrical engineering or production engineering related subject or a recognised engineering electrical apprenticeship, together with at least 3 years' experience in a maintenance department of a manufacturing company
