The Role
As part of the Ravensbourne University London & Estates and Facilities function, the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring a safe, sustainable, and compliant campus environment. We are seeking a skilled, qualified and self-motivated professional to develop and implement robust health and safety policies and procedures. This role will drive a culture of continuous improvement, embedding proactive risk mitigation and incident reporting processes.
You will provide leadership in fostering a positive health and safety culture across the University, working collaboratively to enhance awareness and compliance. Additionally, you will lead the development and integration of the University\\\'s carbon reduction commitments and carbon management plan, ensuring environmental considerations are effectively incorporated into operational activities.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will hold a relevant health and safety qualification, with extensive experience in a similar role and a strong understanding of health and safety legislation. You will have demonstrable expertise in report writing, data analysis, and policy development, as well as hands-on experience in conducting risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits.
Collaboration is key to this role where you will work closely with academic, technical, and professional services teams to champion a positive health and safety culture. You will also be responsible for coordinating the University’s Emergency Response and Business Continuity Plans, as well as overseeing the Fire Strategy and procedures.
We are looking for a proactive, well-organized team player who can confidently manage a diverse workload while driving high standards of health, safety, and environmental sustainability across the University.
