Protocol Education is actively looking for a compassionate, warm, and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our team in Sunderland. Position: SEN Teacher
We are seeking an inspiring SEN Teacher to start in September 2024. This is a full-time, Monday-to-Friday role where you will play a crucial part in providing an outstanding educational experience to our students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Student Engagement: Teach a class of 6-8 students, utilizing individualized learning plans and designing tailored lessons.
* Policy Implementation: Follow school policies on learning, behavior, and adhere to statutory guidelines related to SEN.
* Student Motivation: Encourage students to learn, socialize, and grow more independent by assisting with personal, physical, and medical needs.
* Individualized Education Plans: Create and implement bespoke education plans for students with complex autism and high sensory needs.
* Assessment & Adaptation: Regularly assess student progress and modify teaching strategies to meet their unique needs.
* Collaboration: Work closely with families and school staff to foster a positive, supportive learning environment.
* Direct Instruction: Provide both individual and group instruction, offering guidance and tailored support to students.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
* DBS: A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
* References: At least two recent and satisfactory references are necessary.
Ideal Candidate:
* Interest in SEN: Genuine passion for working with children who have SEN and a willingness to assist with personal care.
* Experience: Prior experience working with students with complex autism and high sensory needs is highly desirable.
* Skills: A strong understanding of effective teaching strategies for SEN students, with the ability to manage challenging behaviors calmly and sensitively.
* Passion: A deep commitment to shaping young children’s education and flexibility to adapt to individual student needs.
* Commitment: Dedicated to providing personalized instruction and the ability to incorporate brain breaks where necessary.
* Special Interests: Enthusiastic about working with SEND and/or SEMH students.
